Trainee Children and Young Peoples Counsellor

We are looking for a Trainee Children and Young Peoples Counsellor to join our large Children and Young People's Service. 

To be eligible,

• You must be enrolled on a recognised children and young peoples counselling qualification/course (Diploma, Degree or Masters). 
• Significant experience working with children and young people in a helping profession.
• Able to commit to 3-6 hours of counselling per week.
• Positive individual with a 'can do' attitude and keen to work as part of a team.
• Willing to embody the BACP Framework. 
• Willingness to take safer recruitment process.

Chair of Trustee

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

An exciting and interesting opportunity to support a local, independent charity based in Leicester.

As the Chair, you will be a member of the Board of Trustees, and lead the Board of Trustees in setting strategic direction and overseeing the Centre’s governance. The role involves facilitating board meetings and supporting the CEO to define and achieve the charity's goals.

We are looking for a forward-thinking person with a positive ‘can do attitude’, someone who is proactive, committed to supporting a independent and local charity and creative. 

We have a diverse board of trustees, and we are keen to recruit members of our local community in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. 

EXPERIENCE 

• Financial experience.
• A willingness to provide support to Relate Leicestershire’s CEO and board of trustees. 
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strategic vision and a creative thinker.
• Willingness to be part of a team.
• Willingness to take part in a safer recruitment check.

HOW YOU WILL SUPPORT 

• To lead and facilitate board meetings. 
• Oversee the recruitment and orientation of new board members. 
• Evaluate the performance of the board, its committees, and individual trustees. 
• Regular availability for the CEO to provide advice and guidance. 
• To work effectively with other Board members
• Being involved in the annual appraisal and pay review of the CEO and other Senior Staff.
• To set and uphold the vision, purpose and values of the Centre. 
• To safeguard the reputation of the Centre.
