Family Counselling
Relate Family Counselling Service helps:
  • families
  • parents and children
  • siblings (child or adult)
  • extended families
  • stepfamilies
  • support families through the bereavement process
  • improve family life
Every family has arguments or big changes at some time and experience difficult times. Usually these are easily sorted out but sometimes the problems just get worse and the longer they are left the more difficult it can be to make up, creating stress for everyone. At this point outside help may be needed and a Relate family counsellor can help you work things out in a way that is best for everyone.
All families are unique and have their own special problems and our counsellors are experienced in relationship issues and trained to work with families.

What happens in Family Counselling?
You can see a Relate Family counsellor on your own, as a group or as a whole family together. The counsellor won't take sides or tell you what to do and will encourage each family member to say how they feel. You will be helped to sort out your differences together by exploring the relationships within the family and helped to move on.
We ask one or more family members to come to the first appointment and with the counsellor agree who will come to future sessions.
There is a charge for this service.

Who can come for counselling?
Any members of a family can come to discuss problems in a safe and relaxed setting.
